Mercury Consulting Engineers Ltd are currently employed to provided the design duties associated with the construction of a new development at Kings Cross London for Urbanest Student Housing Group. It comprises of a 26 storey tower block and a 13 storey shoulder block which are linked at each level except the final 13 floors of the tower block. The facility will provide some 657 bedrooms for specialised accommodation to suit student needs and forms part of the overall Kings Cross KXC development.

 

The services comprise of the provision of CHP fed district heating mains providing primary energy via plate heat exchangers for LTHW heating serving traditional radiators and under-floor heating, domestic hot & cold water services, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, sprinkler systems both domestic and commercial, wet and dry risers, building management system, stand-by generation for life safety systems, primary and secondary distribution switchgear, internal and external lighting, general small power, fire alarms, access control systems, CCTV system, rising busbar systems and general mechanical and electrical services to fixed equipment such as kitchens, laundry's etc.
